The head of Dallas-based Robert Trown & Associates is proud that every client for his firm’s architecture services, interior design and landscape design is a repeat customer. The firm’s jobs — from new builds and renovations to commercial projects and yachts — are far afield, including all over Texas, New York, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Fiji, Europe and the Caribbean. For Trown, taking on a project is not about its impressiveness or lucrativeness: It’s about working with people he already likes and respects. (“If a client calls to say, ‘I want to remodel the coat closet,’ we do it,” he says.) Since his firm’s founding in 1996, Trown has worked with general contractors as closely as he does his clients, ensuring value, quality and a mindfulness about the budget.
